From a Sweet Nickname to a Global Brand: The Tisaksuk Story

Hey there, Tisaksuk family!

We're super excited to share with you the amazing journey we've been on. It's been a rollercoaster of creativity, passion, and hard work, but oh, how sweet it is! Ten years ago, our founder Daphnée Valmond Bourgoin had this spark of an idea. Inspired by the rich heritage of Haiti and her love for local crafts, she started showcasing the work of Haitian artisans on social media and eventually on our website. That's where our adventure took off!

Tisaksuk is a cute childhood nickname that's grown into something so much more. From personalizing linen clothes with unique hand-painted designs to creating a vibrant workshop, we've come a long way. And guess what? Our team now boasts 20 amazing individuals, with women making up half of this awesome crew. Every piece we create is a celebration of Haitian artistry, a unique garment hand-painted by a local artist.

Our journey has also been about embracing growth while staying true to our roots. With international sales soaring, especially in the U.S., we've expanded our reach but never compromised on our artisanal standards. Every item tells a story of Haiti, of the people, and of our culture.

Our dream is big - to become the Amazon of Haiti Made by 2025. Imagine that! A platform buzzing with creativity and showcasing the best of Haiti.

So, stay tuned! We're not just a brand; we're a movement. We're all about celebrating our heritage, empowering local artisans, and bringing a piece of Haiti to the world. Let's make this journey together, one colorful, hand-painted garment at a time.
